Cancel The Sunshine

May 10th, 2017
‘Cancel the Sunshine’ is Chantelle Dusette's autobiographical tale that takes audiences on the journey of dealing with crippling depression and anxiety. Originally a stage play set in London that examines how we navigate and self medicate, mental illness, whilst living our routine existences. Set against the vibrant, fast paced, and sometimes hostile backdrop of a bustling city. The story shines a light on our toxic relationship with social media, and what impact it has on our personal relationships.
The play has been adapted into a short film that combines elements of the drama described and documentary elements to explore the issues exposed. The play is having a huge impact with partners like the NHS and Professional Footballers Association when it's used in workshops and panel discussions around mental health.
It's the aim of Writer Chantelle Dusette and Director Emma Savage to create a meaningful filmed version of the play that can interweave these important fictional and real life narratives. Cancel The Sunshine will be produced by Dan Cleland.
